PROPERTY: Reject community marina
As a resident of Idaho and longtime owner of a home at 15748 S. Turquoise Drive, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814, I have grave concerns about recent developments in my lakeshore neighborhood. The above referenced “Application for Encroachment,” if approved, would greatly impact my property, its value and my personal well-being in a very negative way.
Major changes in substantive land use alone would have a major effect on the environment, e.g. wildlife habitat, aquatic life, water and air quality, noise pollution, etc. The proposed docks with 12 slips of 30-by-12 feet would serve large boats, which would result in heavy traffic along our shoreline and cause serious erosion to it. The ensuing congestion would seriously affect the safety of my family and friends who currently swim, kayak and fish in the area. Our quiet neighborhood was intended for single family homes and I strongly object to it being turned into a “community Marina,” in violation of our covenants, to benefit a development that is not even part of our neighborhood.
I ask for your assistance to stop the approval of this encroachment permit in order to save our neighborhood and to prevent the creation of a precedent for such development in other neighborhoods along the Coeur d’Alene lakeshore.
