NIC: Needs 'good guys with guns'

I can’t begin to express how dismayed I was when I read the article the North Idaho College Board of Trustees are planning to campaign against the proposed Idaho law that would create an exemption for carrying firearms on Idaho’s college campuses.

The reason is that gun free zones or buildings are not effective. If a “loon” with a gun and a death wish wants to create havoc, what better place than a gun free zone? The loon knows that he will be the only person with a gun because all of the law abiding citizens will leave theirs at home or in their vehicle. The reason I say “death wish” is the only people that he wishes were dead are you or your family members. The only people that can help in this type of situation are “good guys” with guns, as they would have the ability to act quickly and decisively to stop the situation NOW. You can’t count on law enforcement because, try as they may, they cannot be everywhere at once and the chance that they will be present is slim.

You can bet your bottom dollar that neither the NIC Trustees or the owner/manager of any gun free zone will jump in front of a speeding bullet to protect you or your family members. They only want to dictate what is politically correct, not what is a reasonable chance for some protection in this type of situation.
