Barbara Lou Allen Hammons, 84

Barbara Lou Allen Hammons, 84, of Meridian, Idaho, died on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at a local care center.

Barbara was born April 16, 1929. She grew up in Hagerman, Idaho, where she met and married Lloyd Hammons (d. 1996). Together they have two children: Carroll Burtzoff of Meridian, and Carl Hammons of Sagel, Idaho; and two grandchildren: Jennifer Crane of Washington, D.C., and Shaun Burtzoff of Meridian, Idaho.

After living in several locations throughout southern Idaho, the family finally settled in Coeur d'Alene in 1966. Barbara was an avid gardener, loved baking, camping, canning, shopping and spending time with family and friends. She had a wonderfully contagious laugh, she loved to share stories and make up little antics.

Barbara was a very kind woman, but never a push over; she was generous, funny, a bit spicy and genuine. She will be deeply missed by everyone she knew. We love you Barbara!

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. today, Jan. 31, 2014, at the Hagerman Cemetery in Hagerman, Idaho. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home in Meridian. Remembrances may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com.
