NIC: Humanities has a key role

After reading the lead story in The Press Jan. 23, “NIC narrows planning focus,” someone in the classroom might raise a hand and ask, “How and why does tech, that is to say job training, take priority over the humanities?”

Hey, I’m serious. It could lead to a debate, and the debate, all things considered, could lead to a brawl. But it would still, most likely, black eyes and all, be educational.

Just how in the world could the NIC trustees possibly object to that?
