PET: Tribute to a special friend
A special animal I have dearly loved has passed on. I must say I was delighted by the care the veterinarian clinic gave me with their compassion, kindness and the strength to put her down. These wonderful veterinarians do know who they are.
Little Miss Teddy was the joy of my life and others for seven years. She delighted all who knew her. Her sparkly chocolate eyes lit up whenever one looked at her. It is hard to lose an animal, and when one finds themselves in need, this outstanding hospital in Hayden came to my need.
Recently, I received a card in the mail from this hospital. I learned that they donated a tree to Miss Teddy, in honor of her life and passing. This donation was to The Arbor Day Foundation. In tribute to her, a tree will be planted and registered in the Superior National Forest.
At the end of the card it read: This tree will be a living monument to your friend.
This is absolutely amazing to me, as Miss Teddy was our precious guinea pig. However, she was still our beloved animal and her life was just as important as a more acceptable animal in society.
It is true that “All Creatures Great and Small,” (James Herriot) truly do matter.
Many thanks to the unseen heroes that helped me in my plight!
