DISPUTE: Banter over bill continues

| January 17, 2014 8:00 PM

Paul Ciruso’s jan. 21 column “Job 1 is get it right” is good advice that he would do well to follow himself. Mr. Ciruso claims that the 2010 Anti-Outsourcing Bill was not killed in the Senate by Republicans as I stated, but rather by the Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid who would not take up the bill for vote.

To dispel Mr. Ciruso’s deceit, simply google “2010 Anti-Outsourcing bill,” and treat yourself to the tidal-wave of truth just as I had originally stated. The bill was defeated in the United States Senate on Sept. 29, 2010, because four Democrats (Ben Nelson, Jon Tester, Max Baucus and Mark Warner) and one Independent (Joe Lieberman) joined the united and completely unanimous Republicans, which brought the final vote to 53 to 45. This was short of the 60-vote supermajority needed to overcome a GOP filibuster. So much for the vote Mr. Ciruso claims never took place.

Obviously, Mr. Ciruso deliberately found some other legislation and used it to undermine the facts that I stated honestly and forthright. For Mr. Ciruso to sink to this level of shame, and then imply that the Democrats are the obstructionists in Congress, testifies to his lack of both credibility and integrity.

Mr. Ciruso now suffers the same fate of his cheap-seat tag-team partner Phil Membury in devoting their columns to undermining the facts of my columns with deceit. No worries though, as their lies will be short lived, and only the truth will endure.
