CORE: Concerns are legitimate

| January 15, 2014 8:12 PM

If Senator Goedde has not had “specific concerns” about the common core he hasn’t been reading his hometown paper. The “My Turn” article in the Cd’A Press on Dec. 19 is just one of many in The Press in the last few months. Sen. Goedde must be representing his own interests rather than the interests of his constituents. (He must be one of those RINO’s mentioned in this article.)

Anyone that supports more bureaucracy and less local control surely cannot be a true conservative. This common core program comes straight out of the Democratic playbook. If Senators DeMordaunt and Goedde have questions with what is wrong with common core, perhaps they should talk with teachers, not administrators, bureaucrats or union bosses. I believe that most teachers are against this bureaucratic monstrosity that is expensive and completely impossible to implement without ruining about 89 percent of the students mentioned in the My Turn article.

I’m sure DeMordaunt and Goedde will have a different perspective after talks with actual teachers. I’ll volunteer for a conversation. I’ll be glad to bend their ear.
