• Etherton to lead Kootenai County Fire Prevention Cooperative

The Coeur d'Alene Fire Department announced that Fire Inspector Craig Etherton was recently voted president of the Kootenai County Fire Prevention Cooperative.

"This team of dedicated individuals is made up of all the fire service departments in the county and carry out a ton of activities and educational events in the area," said Coeur d'Alene Fire Chief Kenny Gabriel. "Craig will provide great leadership for this respected group."

The cooperative consists of fire department public educators that are dedicated to promoting fire prevention and life safety by building public knowledge and awareness and by encouraging and coordinating the sharing of resources among local agencies, according to the agency's mission statement.

Etherton joined the Coeur d'Alene Fire Department in 2003, and served as a firefighter and emergency medical technician until 2012 when he was promoted to fire inspector.
