GUN: Punishment, crime don't fit

| February 14, 2014 8:00 PM

What will it take in our Idaho justice system to realize that a revolver-packing, drug-induced student is more dangerous warranting something more than a misdemeanor offense with a $600 bond, and then allowed back on the streets? Perhaps we should check with the previous school tragedies to see if these communities think the events warranted misdemeanor offenses.

In our recent occurrence, the red flags were waving with knowledge of a weapon in school. The individual was observed with the weapon and should have been reported immediately, but should also have been charged with a serious felony instead of getting a slap on the wrist.
