PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Pruitt guides Hawks to comeback victory
SPOKANE VALLEY - Savannah Pruitt had 14 points and nine rebounds to lead the Lakeland Hawks past the Lake Roosevelt Raiders of Grand Coulee, Wash., 35-31 in the West Valley Christmas tournament on Tuesday.
Lakeland shot 0 for 13 in the first quarter and scored on two free throws in the final 10 seconds before rallying for the win in the second half, keyed by Pruitt, who scored 12 of her 14 points in the second half.
"It seemed like nothing went right for us in the first quarter," Lakeland coach Steve Seymour said. "We've had other games where nothing seemed to go right and we just sat back and went home. But the girls battled back and did a good job of fixing the errors and knocking down shots. I was really pleased with their effort."
