Clyde R. Kaffenberger, 71
Clyde R. "CR" Kaffenberger, 7I, lost his fight with pancreatic cancer.
CR was known to wear many hats during his lifetime, but the best was the hat of friendship. He had many friends from many different organizations and interests in life.
CR was always very appreciative of his life. This man, after being diagnosed with cancer and told there was no treatment or cure, said "I have been blessed with a good life; jobs and people I have worked with I loved, and I also felt I made a difference in the work that did. I had two very good women to share my life with that supported and always stood by me. Kids that I'm very proud of. Most people aren't as blessed as I was." Wouldn't it be a better world if we all could feel this way at the end of our lives?
CR's best love was his sports - this was his favorite pastime/hobby. He was able to enjoy football this year, and most of all Boise State which had a win for him Friday before. How great it will be, because he has a front row seat to watch the Fiesta Bowl this year if they win, and then I know it was especially for him. GO BOISE STATE!!!
Clyde was also diagnosed in 2006 with Parkinson's. He had brain surgery in May of this year, which as much as they could tell after cancer came into his life, was very successful.
He was the oldest of five children, and left all four still alive and doing well. He now joins his mother and father because he knew he was good with the Lord and is at peace, free of pain and misery.
There were no services because he lived in so many places, and said it would not be fair to expect people to travel. He was donated to Science Care Research to further the cure for Parkinson's, hoping he could help somebody else with his body.
CR was loved, and will be greatly missed by everyone.
Anyone wishing to donate in Clyde's name may do so to any charity of your choice.
May he rest in peace.
