| December 23, 2014 8:00 PM

Bonnie Marie Taie, 73, of Baker City, Ore., died Dec. 16, 2014, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise with family by her side.

Bonnie was born in Kansas but moved with her family to the Hayden Lake area when she was 4 years old. It was here that she met her grade school classmate, high school and college sweetheart, and husband of 54 years, Richard Taie.

Bonnie and her husband moved to Baker City where they raised three sons. Throughout the 50 years that she lived in Baker City, Bonnie was a much loved kindergarten teacher for many years, president of the Jaycettes, president of the Brooklyn PTA, and served on the boards of United Way and the American Association of University Women.

Bonnie had many hobbies including being active in several car clubs where she developed many close friendships. One of her hobby highlights was the three year restoration project of a 1956 T-bird. Last March, Bonnie was so excited when her T-bird won two trophies in the Boise Roadster Show.

Bonnie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and teacher. She will be truly missed.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard; sons Bradley (Debbie) of Cottage Grove, Ore., Darren (Julie) of Camas, Wash., Ryan (Beth) of Bothel, Wash.; sisters Lois, Lela, Hazel, Jean, and Betty; one brother, Bob; and 10 grandchildren.
