Bobby Banks, 76

| December 23, 2014 8:00 PM

Bobby Banks, 76, passed away on Thursday December 18th in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho following a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family when he departed for his rightful place with the angels in heaven. Bobby was born August 18, 1938 to Maynard and Nellie Banks in Marlow, Kentucky. After his graduation from high school, Bobby honorably served 12 year in the US Air Force. He settled in the Pacific Northwest and entered a long and commendable career in the logging / forestry industry. He enjoyed his semi-retirement while continuing to occasionally consult in logging safety programs for the industry.

Bobby was known as an exceptional and caring man - a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone and always shared a smile and friendly conversation with anyone who would come along. His kind spirit and warm heart were notable from the moment you met Bobby as was his quirky sense of humor - his warmth and love will be missed by all.

Bobby was an avid outdoorsman spending time camping, fishing, and hiking with family, friends, and his late dog Cassie. More recently Bobby developed and shared his musical talent by becoming active in the local Bluegrass Music Community. He often "jammed" with his local friends playing guitar and banjo, and spent many happy days at local Bluegrass Music Festivals. Impromptu concerts and plucking his Banjo were always entertaining and a favorite for his wife, children and grandchildren.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife and partner Sue, his sisters Kathleen, Betty, and Linda, his brother Ronald, his children Bobby Banks Jr., Eileen Banks, Rick Knoke, Tracy (and Jim) Lagomarsino, Toni (and Ken) Logan, and a long list of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Eileen, and his daughter Shelly,

Although the world seems a sadder place without Bobby, his spirit and kindness live on through all those whose lives he touched. Please pay it forward with love and kindness to all. Family and friends will join Pastor Dave Roberts in a celebration of Bobby's life at Yates Funeral Home, 373 E Hayden Avenue, Hayden, on Friday December 26, 2014 at 1 p.m. A reception and time of fellowship will follow the service.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Bobby's online memorial and sign his guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
