Post Falls on top after Day 1
COEUR d'ALENE - After a back and forth first day at the 43rd Tri-State Invitational on Friday, it was the Post Falls Trojans at the top of the team standings at North Idaho College.
Post Falls seniors Drake Foster (126 pounds), Seth McLeod (182) and Justin Farnsworth (285) advanced to today's semifinal round, which begins at 11 a.m.
Foster will face Andy Wagner of Hermiston (Ore.) in the semis. McLeod will face will face Alex Berfinger of Union (Wash.) and Farnsworth will face Hunter Mullins of Orting (Wash.).
After the quarterfinals, Post Falls led the team standings 121 points, with University High of Spokane in second with 110.5.
Championship finals are scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
Larry Johnson of Lakeland also advanced to the semifinals at 113 pounds, and will face Tyler Headland of Lake Stevens (Wash.). Lakeland is tied for 17th with 56 points.
