POLICE: And now, good news
In the course of my job, I received and read a report of a peace officer who located a vulnerable, elderly citizen, who was driving, got lost and became disoriented. Peace officers got the citizen and their vehicle home. The citizen said that they wanted to go to the store to get some milk. The peace officer went to the store and picked up two gallons of milk for the citizen. How nice was that!
I am not always the biggest fan of law enforcement, but most of my criticism is regarding the way municipalities use peace officers, and not with the officers themselves. However, I tire of mostly hearing the negative about those who risk so much on a daily basis, when this type service takes place so much more often than not. We have some great men and women working in our local municipalities, and local governments that allow them to treat people the way they deserve to be treated. I wanted to spread something positive about our local peace officers, and to thank them for what they attempt to do on our behalf. This was truly an example of protecting and serving in our community.
