MILLIE: It's all in your outlook
I feel compelled to write this letter about Millie and Beverly. I have lived several places: New Jersey, California and now Idaho. Because of a job opportunity for my husband, we moved to California. I told my husband that if he ever considered divorcing me he should do it before we moved to California because I wanted to stay in New Jersey near family, my friends and my job. My husband and I weighed the alternatives and made a choice.
That is what we did, that is what you did. We all made choices and with choices come consequences. What I do not understand is all the time and energy spent on whining in a public newspaper. No I did not read Millie’s piece. If I want to hear whining I will spend more time with my grandsons. There are people calling for the killing of cops, children being beheaded in Iraq, vets coming home in pieces without jobs waiting for them, people going without food or gifts for their kids during this holiday season, etc., and you whine about the lack of stores for material things and of all things, the weather.
And speaking of California having the best weather, I felt out of touch in California. I like the change in seasons; it is good for the soul. It keeps you humble.
You think people are bashing you, but your egotistical outlook is your downfall. Did I like California? Yes, I still have friends there. Do I like Idaho? Hell yes. Find something that makes you or someone else happy and do it.
