COEUR d'ALENE - Kaleb Maciosek (113 pounds), Drew Gorringe (145), Brayden Minas (152) and Colton Johnson (160) won both of their matches by pin for the Coeur d'Alene Vikings in dual victories over the Lakeland Hawks and Kellogg Wildcats on Wednesday at Lake City High.

Coeur d'Alene beat Lakeland 50-33 and Kellogg 66-21, improving to 8-3 on the season.

"The kids stepped it up against Lakeland," Coeur d'Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. "They've got a very good team this year and we wrestled tough against them. Mike Bingham (120 pounds) and Drew Gorringe (145) wrestled really tough. We got after Kellogg too. We're making strides and getting better."

Lake City beat Kellogg 59-22 before losing to Lakeland 40-34.

"It was a tough one against Lakeland," Lake City coach Corey Owen said. "We won eight matches and they won seven, but the difference was when they got our kids on their backs, they pinned them. Those extra points really helped them tonight. Both Lakeland and Kellogg are very solid teams, and our kids met the test."

All four teams will compete in the 43rd annual Tri-State Invitational starting Friday at North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene.
