PREP BOYS BASKETBALL: Bullpups push past T-Wolves
SPOKANE - Logan Adams and Kea Vargas scored 12 points apiece, leading the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups past the Lake City Timberwolves 58-43 in an nonleague game on Wednesday night.
Gonzaga Prep outscored Lake City 25-12 in the fourth quarter to extend a 33-31 advantage after three.
"We had an offensive lull in the third quarter and they went on a little bit of a spurt," Lake City assistant coach Kelly Reed said. "We had to press and foul, and they executed against the press and made their foul shots. We played hard, we just struggled offensively and got behind the 8-ball. We got the deficit down to 10 with 3 1/2 to do, but couldn't capitalize and they made their shots down the stretch."
Nick Hancock scored 15 points for Lake City (2-3), which is off until the Lake City Invitational, facing Kentridge in the opening round on Dec. 29 at 7 p.m.
