SOLDIER: Salutes patriotic people
To The People of Coeur d’Alene:
I’m a soldier, and I was recently in uniform on duty and had to run to a local warehouse store and two other places in your city for supplies for a holiday party. I have to say, your support, heartfelt thanks and respect was just overwhelming. I didn’t get 10 feet in the warehouse store before someone stopped me to shake my hand, thank me for my service and tell me about their uncle, cousin or grandpa who served.
At the checkout line, same thing, and two employees also stopped me. Out in the parking lot, another stranger offered to help me load up the paper plates and cups and take my cart back in…also wanting to let me know how much I am appreciated.
You have no idea how important this is to us. I only wish the same had been true for our Vietnam veterans when they came home. Thanks to YOU! People like you are a big part of our pride in serving this great nation.
