Cd'A: Slick roads, good bus drivers
On Friday, Dec. 4, Post Falls School District made the Coeur d’Alene School District look like fools…or did they?
Post Falls decided to close up the school district but the Coeur d’Alene School District decided to press on. I’m not sure how this decision is made at the big building on Northwest Boulevard but this was one that might have needed more collaboration.
Many students and some staff members reported falling on the ice while getting their day started. With a thin layer of ice blanketing the county, school bus drivers reported that it was the worst driving conditions they experienced since joining the transportation team. School bus drivers also reported that they had instances where their school bus slid through intersections and off the road, yet no accidents were reported.
The real heroes of the day were the school bus drivers. Hundreds of students delivered to school and back safely. They not only saved the day but saved the reputation of the Coeur d’Alene School District once again. Proud to be on the team.
