Betty Jean Ghio, 88

Betty Jean Ghio passed away on Nov. 16, 2014, to be with her Lord. She was 88 years old. She passed away at home surrounded by her family. She had been under the care of North Idaho Hospice because she was suffering from lung cancer.

Betty was born on Feb. 21, 1926, in Chicago, Ill. Her parents were Vonna White and R. Vernon Gibler, and she had six siblings.

Prior to her retirement, Betty worked as an office manager for Alex Rafalovich, CPA, in San Pedro, Calif. Betty moved to Idaho in 2003 to be close to her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Ghio, and her six siblings. Betty is survived by her two children, Jacqueline Velez and Victor Eizenga; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Betty's memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at First Presbyterian Church, 521 Lakeside Ave., Coeur d'Alene. There will be a reception at the church following the service.
