PASCO, Wash. — Jamaal Robateau scored 23 points and added eight rebounds and two steals to lead the North Idaho College men’s basketball team, ranked No. 21 in the NJCAA, past the Columbia Basin College Hawks 99-85 on Tuesday night.
“This might have been the best game Jamaal has played for us,” NIC coach Corey Symons said. “He always scores, but did a really good job defensively.”
Braian Angola-Rodas had 19 points and six rebounds for NIC, which led 50-35 at halftime after shooting 18 of 32 from the field. Jordan King and Djuan Piper had 17 points apiece for NIC (9-1), which faces Everett in the opening round of the Bigfoot Classic Friday at 2 p.m. at Spokane Community College.
“We played pretty well as a group, but just had a tough time putting them away,” Symons said. “They just started hitting some shots and got back into it.”
Josh Reed scored 21 points. Former Coeur d’Alene High standout Justin Carpenter had two points for Columbia Basin (1-5).
