SANDPOINT - Senior Kyle Stanley scored his first two goals of the season, including a game-winning penalty kick in the 79th minute, to lead the Bulldogs past over Stillwater Christian of Kalispell, Mont., in nonleague play at Pine Street Field.

After shutout losses to Coeur d'Alene and Lake City to start the season, the Bulldogs (1-2) finally found a rhythm offensively, as goals by Stanley and freshman Tanner Kohal staked the team to an early 2-0 lead.

"We moved the ball pretty well, but we could have finished better," said Bulldogs head coach Adam Tajan. "We're growing with each game. It's nice to see a freshman step up and score."

Stillwater Christian scored two quick goals to start the second half, and the game appeared headed for a tie, before a bumping penalty call on Dawson Mulder at the edge of the box in the final minute led to Stanley's game winner.

Sandpoint is at Post Falls on Tuesday.
