Buck doesn't stop here as Timberlake romps in opener

| August 31, 2014 9:00 PM

MISSOULA, Mont. - The Timberlake Tigers love playing on the turf at Washington-Grizzly Stadium.

And it sure showed on Saturday night.

Daniel Buck ran for 176 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Tigers past the Frenchtown Broncos 48-27 in the final game of the three-game Hometown Pride Classic, which matched Idaho schools vs. Montana schools.

As a team, Timberlake ran for 334 yards - with Josh Lampert running for 98 - and controlled the time of possession at 40 minutes, 58 seconds.

"We didn't have too much trouble moving the ball in the game," Timberlake assistant coach Brian Kluss said. "It was a back and forth game for a while."

Timberlake built a 21-6 lead before Frenchtown rallied to tie the game early in the third quarter. The Tigers outscored Frenchtown 20-0 in the fourth quarter to pull away.

"We were pleased that we put up some points, but we've still got some work to do on offense," Kluss said. "Daniel and Josh both had really good games and our entire offensive line was really good tonight."

Timberlake hosts Riverside (Wash.) on Friday.
