FLAG: Let symbol of freedom fly

| August 29, 2014 9:00 PM

The photo of the American flag atop a tall pine tree on Fourth of July Pass brought pride and a tear to my eye. Then I read that there were discussions about removing it. With all the turmoil in the world, and much of it anti-American, I find it a shame that its removal would even be considered.

Every American in North Idaho should insist that it stay as a symbol of what we hold so dear as Americans. Our flag is routinely burnt in other nations as a symbol of how they regard us. But isn’t it interesting that so many come here to be educated, enjoying all America has to offer, then return to where they came from and join radical movements to destroy us.

What is wrong with that picture?

Leave the flag where it is. Because of that flag we enjoy the many freedoms that we do.
