Candidates must file paperwork by Tuesday

| August 29, 2014 9:00 PM

Candidates who wish to run for a seat on the North Idaho College Board of Trustees have until 5 p.m. Tuesday to file their petitions of candidacy.

There are two trustee seats opening, positions now held by Christie Wood and Ken Howard.

As of Thursday afternoon, Wood was the only trustee candidate whose paperwork had been filed.

There are also three supervisor seats available for election at the Kootenai/Shoshone Soil & Water Conservation District. The filing deadline for those positions is also 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Candidates for the conservation district and the college trustee positions must file their paperwork with the taxing districts in order to get their names on the Nov. 4 election ballot.

Candidate declaration forms are available from those taxing district offices, from the Elections office at 1808 N. Third St. in Coeur d'Alene, or online at www.kcgov.us/elections/candidate_downloads.asp.

Candidates who are considering withdrawing from an election race before the Nov. 4 General Election must do so by Sept. 8 for any county office, or Sept. 19 for any taxing district.
