Lois Irene Holecek, 82

Lois Irene Holecek, 82, of Coeur d'Alene, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, in Rathdrum, Idaho.

Lois was born Feb. 18, 1932, in Wolfe Point, Mont., the daughter of Lee Edwin and Evelyn Ilene (St. Claire) Glasco. She grew up in Montana, attended schools and graduated from high school.

Lois met Charley Holecek and they were married on Aug. 1, 1953, in Coeur d'Alene. In 1958, Lois and Charley moved to Everett, Wash., and then to various locations around the west due to Charley's job, returning to Coeur d'Alene in 1968.

Lois worked as a cook for the Coeur d'Alene School District preparing meals for students for many years, and later volunteered at Kootenai Medical Center. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing and putting puzzles together.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley; son Dan Holecek; grandson Alan Holecek; and her parents.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Arment of Anchorage, Alaska, and grandchildren Michelle, Christy, Darrell and Kenny; sons Larry Holecek (Linda) of Athol, Idaho, and grandchildren Dean and Kevin; Steve Holecek of Princeton, Texas, and grandchildren Bret, Steve, and Eva; Stan Holecek (Julie) of Coeur d'Alene, and grandchild Kylee; Allen Holecek (Kay) of Misawa, Japan, and grandchild Patrick; 31 great-grandchildren; brothers Edwin Glasco and Bill Glasco, and sister Donna Willadsen.

Viewing will be from 9 -10 a.m. today, Aug. 28, with the funeral at 10 a.m. today at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel. Private burial will be at a later time.
