ID-A-KID program is Friday

| August 28, 2014 9:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office will be offering its "ID-A-KID" program Friday at Target in Coeur d'Alene.

Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., sheriff's office personnel will fingerprint and photograph participating children, with all information given to the parent for safekeeping.

No information will be retained by the sheriff's office.

"The photograph, fingerprints and other identifying information can be a valuable tool for law enforcement if the child is ever missing," Gary Shults, community service officer, said in a press release.

The sheriff's office is providing this service free of charge.
