Children's Village purchases new van

COEUR d'ALENE - Children's Village just got a brand new ride.

Thanks to a $27,250 grant from Women's Gift Alliance and help from Coeur d'Alene Honda, Children's Village now has a new 2014 Honda Odyssey 5DR LX minivan to transport children to and from their schools and any necessary appointments.

Children's Village hosted a reception Aug. 21 at Coeur d'Alene Honda to thank the ladies of Women's Gift Alliance and Ken and Rita Snyder with Coeur d'Alene Honda for their collaboration in providing the nonprofit organization with the new vehicle.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of the van was $28,825, but Coeur d'Alene Honda stepped up and covered the tax expenses so the van could be purchased for the grant amount.

"We are so grateful not only to Women's Gift Alliance for the generous grant but also to Coeur d'Alene Honda for being a continued partner and for caring so deeply about our mission," said Christina Hull, development officer for Children's Village.

Children's Village provides protection and services for children who are abused, neglected, homeless or experiencing severe family crisis. It offers shelter and residential foster care as well as a Crisis Nursery facility for at-risk infants and toddlers.
