Video could help trio compete in ski event

| August 27, 2014 9:00 PM

Essex Prescott of Hayden isn't afraid of heights.

Neither are his "Team Vacation" teammates, Dylan Siggers and Leo Zukerman. According to a press release, "this team of three extreme skiers feels right at home jumping out of a helicopter onto crisp white powder and skiing down the side of a mountain that no chairlift could ever get to."

The trio is now vying for a chance to compete in the "World Heli Challenge" by receiving the most votes in a video contest. If they win, they will travel to New Zealand for the nine-day competition.

Their video showcases "the natural talent" of Prescott and Siggers. Zuckerman, who filmed the video, is an accomplished filmmaker who has been recognized for his work.

Prescott, who has skied all over the world, trains at Sandpoint's Schweitzer Mountain. In the video, according to the release, Prescott and Siggers "team up to take on steep drops and high-speed extreme skiing with more adrenaline than a Warren Miller film."

Voting for the contest ends on Thursday at 9 p.m. and each viewer is allowed to vote once a day. To view the video, go to worldhelichallenge.com/2014/08/team-vacation.
