EASTON: Camp should never be sold

| August 22, 2014 9:00 PM

After reading the story re: Idaho superior court clears way to place Camp Easton for sale, I felt a sense of disgust at the obvious play leaders of the BSA council in the area to be manipulated by commercialism verses the needs of so many past, present and future Boy Scouts.

I remember the days I spent at Camp Easton and hoped that my son would be able to experience the same fantastic adventures I did. But appears not to be. Why even open that can, then deny wanting to sell such a wonderful place.

Boy Scouts are taught to be honest and have integrity. Robert Baden Powell would roll over in his grave at the thought of selling such a fantastic opportunity (summer camp at Camp Easton) for so many scouts.

CAMP EASTON should never be sold. Those that think so and or have thought so should be ashamed of themselves. Tunnel under the road? How many trees cut down for that? How much land destroyed for that?
