POST FALLS - Here's your chance to show some muscle for local youth.

Peak Health and Wellness Center in Post Falls will present its 10th annual Pump in the Park fundraiser that will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County on Aug. 28 from 6-7 p.m.

"This year's event will be slightly different because we have combined it with our annual Kids Day," said Heath Wiltse, Peak of Post Falls general manager. "So there will be lots of games and amusements to keep the kids entertained and the Pump class for adults to get fit in."

Tickets for Pump in the Park, which includes an outdoor Pump class at Peak, barbecue and a backpack donation to be made on behalf of each participant, are $20. Tickets are on sale at Peak, 927 Polston Ave., and at the Boys and Girls Club, 200 W. Mullan Ave.

"We think this event is great because it combines our passion for community and fitness," Wiltse said. "Adding in the kids event, we hope to inspire the next generation to get on the path to fitness and health."

The fundraiser has generated more than $28,000 for nonprofits over the years. It is open to anyone, not only Peak members, and participants don't have to be in the Pump class.

The free Kids Day, which includes a barbecue, carnival games and bounce houses for children younger than 13, runs from 5 to 8 p.m. There will also be movies and dancing.

Boys and Girls Club members will cap the evening with a special dance routine.
