A wide variety of U.S. coins, tokens and supplies for casual and serious collectors will be at Spartacus Coin Bullion Collectibles when it opens Sept. 3 at 1107 E. Sherman Ave.

Owners Richard and Elaine Price (their name fits the business!) buy and sell gold and silver bullion, individual coins, tokens and coin collections. They started as casual collectors and are active in Coeur d'Alene Coin Club, of which he is president. Their hobby turned into a business in 2010 when they joined coin shows in Idaho and Washington.

Hours will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, 11 to 4 Saturdays and Sundays by appointment. The space previously was CdA Yarn.

The grand opening week will include special pricing on silver rounds and a free 2014 Lincoln cent counter-stamped with the Idaho image for the first 500 customers. Phone 640-1397. Check spartacuscoins on Facebook.

And now the Tidbits

- Watch for news on The Vault Coffee Shop on Sherman, CdA Nails & Spa at Crossroads/Winco, Pretty Angel Botanicals in Riverstone, Fortus Realty in Midtown and Lyle's Fabrics on Seltice. And some new digging is at Crossroads.

- "Blonde" has been miscolored in some stories lately. With the "e" it's a female noun only. Without the "e" it's an adjective or a male noun - although it seems weird to call a male a "blond." Usually we say he has blond hair or is a towhead, which has two origins. "Tow" is a synonym for flax (a yellow plant). "Towhead" is a freshly cut end of a log that a logger will tow.

- He would lead if he got the lead out.

- A label on the bottom of Coke bottles in some countries: "Open other end."

- If a Realtor gives me a commercial clue, I'll give him/her a plug.
