SPOKANE VALLEY (AP) - Authorities said a car belonging to a Spokane Valley, Washington, couple reported missing after a suspicious fire at their home was found in nearby Benewah County with two bodies inside.

The identities of those found in the car Friday were not immediately made public.

Spokane Valley Fire Department Assistant Fire Marshal Bill Clifford said an explosion and fire were reported Thursday at the home of John and Sandy Tiffany.

Clifford said the department's arson dog indicated the use of accelerant in several places. He said investigators believe one or both of the Tiffanys set the fire. Clifford said investigators have surveillance footage of John Tiffany filling gas cans at a gas station several hours before the fire.

A search began after the couple's son filed a missing person's report. Clifford said Benewah County sheriff's deputies found the couple's white Kia on property they owned between the Idaho towns of Plummer and St. Maries.
