SANDPOINT - A Sagle man was killed early Friday morning after his vehicle struck a southbound tractor-trailer head-on.

Harrison W. Reasor was northbound on the Long Bridge on Highway 95 in his 2000 Ford F250 when he failed to maintain his lane, according to Idaho State Police. Reasor, 20, crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a 2005 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Gurenderpal S. Dhillon, 44, of Saskatchewan, Alberta, about 5:37 a.m., the Idaho State Police reported.

Reasor died of his injuries at the scene. Dhillon was not injured in the crash.

Police reported both Reasor and Dhillon were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

The early-morning accident blocked both lanes of the Long Bridge from approximately milepost 471.6 to milepost 473.8 for approximately five hours, ISP said.

An investigation is continuing.

• Huckleberry Festival continues in Wallace

WALLACE - The annual Wallace Huckleberry Festival continues today at Sixth and Cedar streets.

Cindy Lien, festival coordinator, said this year's festival will be including many new events, including a vintage and new Jeep showdown where Jeeps of all kinds will be on display. She said there will be a $500 prize for the winner of the showdown.

Lien said there was a time when the festival hardly received any attendance, but this year she estimates an all-time high from local participation.

Today's events begin with the 5K run. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., and the medals for the run will be presented at the gazebo at 11.

There will be kids games on the Depot lawn from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Lien said.

Lien said there will be an expected 40-50 vendors in attendance for the festival. She said the vendors are one of the biggest parts of the weekend because they provide a wide variety of goods to buy and things to do.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Stair Restoration Project will be Saturday morning at 11:30.

The Wallace Rotary Club will be cooking a pancake breakfast today from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Wallace Jr./Sr. High School cafeteria.

Live music will be performed periodically at the gazebo on both days of the festival.
