Pop, rock and blues at the JACC

POST FALLS - Concert-goers are in for a groovy night at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center.

Singer/songwriter Ron Greene of Coeur d'Alene will present blues, pop and rock paired with lyrical musings of life, love and the world during a concert with his band GRE3N starting at 7:30 tonight.

Greene, who performs guitar and vocals as a solo artist and with his band, has been a dynamic presence in the Northwest Music scene for several years. He has independently released two recordings: the full-length "Sketches" in 2008 and a blues-inspired EP, "Wood and Fire," in 2013. He will be releasing a new full-length recording this year.

Greene's biography on www.rongreenetunes.com describes his music as "a blend of Lenny Kravitz and his soulful rock blended with the bluesy pop of John Mayer." Greene has performed in the Northwest and on the West Coast for the last decade and has played nearby venues such as The Coeur d'Alene Resort and the Coeur d'Alene Casino and Resort as well as more distant venues in Seattle and New York.

This is the first time Greene will play the JACC.

"He's known locally pretty well," said Helga Wernicke, office manager of the JACC. "We are always excited to have especially local artists and have our local community participate in exciting new music."

Tickets to see Greene at the JACC are still available. They are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors 62 and older and $5 for kids. They can be purchased at www.thejacklincenter.org or www.rongreenetunes.com. Attendees will receive a new CD of GRE3N solo performances.

The Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center is located at 405 N. William St. in Post Falls.
