'The Odd Couple' is tonight at Kroc

| August 13, 2014 9:00 PM

Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre will present a dramatic reading of "The Odd Couple" today at 7:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, 1765 W. Golf Course Road, Coeur d'Alene.

The performance is a fundraiser for the theater. Tickets cost $25.

The play, written by Neil Simon, is about two monumentally incompatible roommates: neurotic, neat-freak newswriter, Felix Ungar, and Oscar Madison, a slovenly sportswriter.

For a reading, actors have the scripts in their hands and the set is music stands and chairs.

"But all that is forgotten immediately once an audience is pulled in by actors fully committing to a script," states a press release. "It's uncanny, but one actually stops seeing the actors flipping pages; one actually stops noticing the music stands."
