Roy D. Rambo, 67

Beloved husband, son and father, Roy Deen Rambo, 67, of Athol, Idaho, passed away Aug. 10, 2014.

Roy was born on May 27, 1947, in Pryor, Okla., to Roy U. Rambo and Mildred Deen Rambo. He attended Welch School, a one-room school in Mayes County, Okla., until the age of 10 when his family moved to Idaho. Roy attended Athol Elementary, and finished his primary and secondary education at Post Falls Junior and Senior High Schools. He then went on to Eastern Washington University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree.

Roy married Marie Jones on Nov. 19, 1983, at the Fort Sherman Chapel in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and they made their home in Athol.

Roy enjoyed occupations that included manufacturing, working in the timber industry and driving as a library book courier. His hobby was alpaca farming, while also being an avid sports fan and outdoorsman. He was also a member of the Athol Baptist Church where he had many friends.

Roy is survived by his wife, Marie, of Athol; mother Mildred of Coeur d'Alene; brother Randy of Vader, Wash.; sister Nona of Coeur d'Alene; daughter Patricia Bakker (Peter) of Lewiston, Idaho; son Bart Rambo of Clarkston, Wash.; grandson Peter H. Bakker of Lewiston, Wash.; nephew Wayne Rambo (Cat) of Seattle, Wash.; and niece Kelly Rambo of Post Falls, Idaho.
