RIGHTS: They apply to everyone

Fascism: severe economic and social regimentation and forcible suppression of opposition (Merriam Webster: New College Dictionary).

Fascism is creeping into our society. We are losing our ability to think individually and are being dictated to act while society changes its views and laws. “Moral courage seems to be less common in our nation and political correctness, compromise and intimidation of those with differing views have become prevalent.”

The Constitution guarantees equal rights for all, but where does it say that you can’t open and operate a business unless you serve everyone that comes in the door? Christ said to love your neighbor as yourself, but He also set a pattern for association. He loved all races of people and moved among them, healing all who came to Him, but He also used Sodom and Gomorrah as examples of cities whose people had become morally decadent.

The LGBT movement wants all businesses to serve them, no matter what the religious convictions of the owners must be, and the city of Coeur d’Alene serves as enforcer. A dangerous precedent has been set in the name of equal rights.

Some of the better waiters who served us through the years were gay. Several of my better friends in the Air Force were black and we have rented homes to Latinos. However, there are some people of color and sexual preference I would never associate with even if it cost me my business. The same can be said for white, straight people who use vulgar speech or lewd actions.
