Trevino named MVP for North, but All-Star Game ends in tie

EUGENE, Ore. - Spokane Indians second baseman Jose Trevino was named the Most Valuable Player with two doubles as the Northwest League North Division All-Stars tied the South All-Stars, 0-0, in front of 3,567 at PK Park in the Northwest League All-Star Game.

Three different Indians combined to have four of the North All-Stars' five hits. Trevino went 2 for 4, Seth Spivey went 1 for 2, and Eduard Pinto went 1 for 4 with a double.

North All-Star pitcher Richelson Pena of Spokane struck out three and allowed no hits over an inning, while Andrew Case (Vancouver) struck out three and allowed no hits over 1 2/3 innings.

South All-Star pitcher Zac Curtis (Hillsboro) struck out three over the last two innings of the game.

League play resumes Thursday, with Spokane hosting Everett for a three-game series at Avista Stadium beginning at 6:30 p.m.
