Hayden Days parade winners

Hundreds of people participated in pulling off this year's Hayden Days festival.

The event took place in Hayden City Park July 25 and 26, and started with the national anthem sung by David Sheldon.

The celebration continued with the Hayden Days Parade led by Grand Marshal Rachel Hammontree, also the city's citizen of the year.

Hayden City Council President Roger Saterfiel presented the winners of the parade with plaques:

* Supreme Theme

First place - Blazen Divas

Second place - Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce

Third place - Cliff and Nancy Arthur

* Best in Parade

First place - Flip Factory Gymnastics/Spirit Cheer

Second place - Hot Punch Highlanders

Third place - Rolling Thunder Drill Team

After the parade, the NAPA Car Show involved more than 85 entries and 50 bicycles.

Other events during the festival included the Hayden Senior Center Beer and Wine Garden, kids games and activities, live entertainment, Flip Factory gymnastic demonstrations, The Peak Zumba and NIA dance performances. The event attracted more than 50 food and crafts vendors.

The annual Hayden Days Pancake Breakfast - hosted Saturday morning by the Hayden Chamber of Commerce and Northern Lakes Fire Department - served about 200 people.

The weekend entertainment began with Carli Osika, the 2013 Hayden's Got Talent runner-up, and finished with the Kelly Hughes Band. Saturday evening featured the Swing Street Big Band, attracting about 200 people for the festival's finale.

Winners of this year's "Hayden's Got Talent" show were:

Second place - Pierre Schrambach

Third place - Josh Day.
