Vault Coffee to open in downtown Cd'A

| August 5, 2014 9:00 PM

Vault Coffee will open in early September at 324 Sherman Ave., at the corner of Fourth Street and Sherman Avenue. Local residents Danelle Reagan and stepdaughter Haley John said they are eager to restore this local landmark, built in 1904 as The Exchange Bank of Coeur d'Alene.

Vault Coffee is designed by HDG Architecture of Spokane, which has had other recent projects on Sherman, such as The Cellar, Fire Artisan Pizza and most recently, Crafted Taphouse. Vault has combined an eclectic mix of modern and vintage decor with a nod to the early 1900s banking industry. General Contractor is Oldwave, Inc. of Coeur d'Alene.

Vault will serve DOMA Coffee of Post Falls and teas from Elmwood Inn Fine Teas, based in Danville, Ky. A variety of pastries and grab-and-go items will be also be available and the menu may expand with beer and wine in the fall. There will be outdoor seating and special events planned into the season.

"There is great synergy right now in downtown Coeur d'Alene and we're happy to be a part of that," Reagan said in a press announcement. "We're also pleased to serve DOMA Coffee as they have a great product, a loyal following and are very community-oriented."
