June Edgren, 80

| August 5, 2014 9:00 PM

Marilyn "June" Johnson Edgren passed away on July 30, 2014, due to complications of Parkinson's Disease. Her family was at her side.

June was born on Dec. 16, 1933, to Harold and Audrey Johnson at the family home near Colfax, Wash. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1951.

Following graduation, June went to work for Seattle First National Bank in Colfax where she met many of her lifelong friends. She also met the love of her life, Roger Edgren. They married on Sept. 10, 1955, and soon built their home just a few miles from where she grew up.

June loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She greatly enjoyed her family and friends as well as tending to her flowers and garden, taking care of her home, vacationing at the lake, cheering on the Colfax Bulldogs, playing bridge with the ladies, working at the Elk Drug Store, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.

Upon retirement in the mid-90s, June and Roger moved to Hayden Lake. A loyal member of "Curves," June was proud of her record of 2,012 days in attendance.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Audrey and Harold Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Roger Edgren of Hayden Lake; daughters: Kay Lynn Mayhew (Bill) of Whidbey Island, Wash., Jana Daily (Jeff) of Park City, Utah, and Shari Griff (Darin) of Hayden Lake; grandchildren: Jenna and Hayden Daily, and Shayla and Dylan Griff; twin sister Joan Pettibone of Olympia, Wash.; and brother Bill Johnson (Delores) of Coos Bay, Ore.

All who knew and loved June will miss her greatly. The family would like to thank the staff at Wellspring Meadows Assisted Living in Hayden, and Hospice of North Idaho, for their loving care.

The family invites everyone to join them in a celebration of June's life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Hill Ray Plaza, 801 Vista Point Drive, Colfax, for an old-time picnic lunch (indoors and catered). An RSVP to Kay Lynn at bkmayhew@gmail.com or (206) 250-6015 would be helpful. Ladies, wear something colorful and don't forget your lipstick!
