Weather postpones Idaho 200 to today

| August 3, 2014 9:00 PM

POST FALLS - The Idaho 200 event was postponed on Saturday night, after a severe wind storm blew down a power pole and the track lost power about 7 p.m., roughly an hour before the super late model race was set to begin.

Power was restored to the facility last Saturday evening, and officials will run the race today.

"We've got adequate repairs to the facility and look forward to presenting the 15th annual Idaho 200 (today)," Larry Bertrand, Stateline Speedway promoter said late Saturday evening.

The grandstands will open today at noon, and opening ceremonies will begin at 1 p.m. The Outlaw Compacts will run today in addition to the Idaho 200 super late model event.

Bertrand said ticket stubs from Saturday's event will be honored for today.

"I would like to apologize to our fans and racers," Bertrand said. "We had quite a bit of physical damage to our property, and were really bummed we couldn't get the event in (Saturday).

"We have made the necessary repairs to run the event today, but it will take weeks to complete all the repairs the property suffered as a result of the storm."

Bertrand said over 20 percent of the track's lighting was damaged, and as a result Wednesday's event, Hump Day Havoc, is "still up in the air."
