Truck show this weekend

| August 2, 2014 9:00 PM

The second Inland Northwest Truck Show is taking place through Sunday at the Greyhound Park and Event Center in Post Falls.

The family friendly exposition includes an outdoor show of vintage and contemporary trucks, and attendees and exhibitors can vote for their favorites.

The event features live music, an indoor vendor area, as well as outdoor tents with food, beverages, memorabilia for purchase, and a skills competition. Sunday's event is the "grudge match" in which participants will compete in their own trucks.

There are about 100 vintage and modern trucks on display and more are expected over the weekend.

Founder Bob Larson said that 100 percent of the proceeds from the rodeo entrance fees ($25 daily) goes to the prize money.

"If you came here looking to get into the trucking industry, you could buy a truck, learn to drive it, finance it, insure it, and buy a trailer or parts," Larson said.

The events are scheduled to take place rain or shine, but "It's all shine," Larson said.

The schedule for the rest of the weekend is Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Ticket prices are: Adults, $8; Kids (5-12), $5.
