HYPOCRITES: You're going to the dogs

Here is one fact for all you hypocrites, with all your whining about losing your freedoms and wanting to take “your” country back.

Did you forget what our “legal” ancestors did to the Native Americans? Actually, it’s their country to take back. I bet they consider us illegal. First it was the gold and the extinction of the buffalo (money for hides), then the coal, oil and gas, to the point of climate change. So next time you start running your mouths, remember we have it pretty good compared to what we did to them.

As far as “adoring” President Obama, not really. It was President Teddy Roosevelt that I “adored.” He was a real Republican and cared about the people and the environment. If it wasn’t for him, our national forests would probably be nothing but oil and gas wells (fracking).

There has been a lot of anger, and rightly so, about Arfee. I think it’s terrible and should have never happened. But let’s not forget about the dogs that died needlessly in traps last year. This is a big problem that needs to be dealt with before it happens again. I completely agree with K. Brown (My Turn, Saturday, July 26). The changes to the trapping laws need to be done now.
