Sean Michael Daly, 56

| April 22, 2014 10:52 AM

Sean Michael Daly, 56, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.

Sean was born in Trenton, Mich., to Joseph and Leona Daly. He graduated from Post Falls High School in 1976, and joined the United States Army in 1977. After being deployed in Germany, Sean moved to St. Maries, Idaho, and became a Benewah County Sheriffs Deputy on January 12, 1981.

Sean married his wife, Jackie, in February of 1984, and left for the Idaho State Police Academy in March. He spent 27 eventful years with ISP (entertaining the public and forcing them to listen to a story in lieu of a ticket), before retiring in May of 2011; he also retired from the United States Army in September of 2011.

Sean is survived by his wife, Jackie; daughters and sons-in-law: Nikki and Kassi, and their spouses, Sam and David; grandchildren: Calvin, Peyton, and Presley; his mother, Leona; brothers: Paul, Matt, Andy, and Terry; sisters: Mary, Ronnie, Denise and Megan; and some of the best friends a man could ask for.

Sean spent most of his free time dancing in his shop with Peyton to the Bee Gees, digging in the driveway with Calvin, and dreaming about driving a Charger over 120 mph again. He also continued his passion of rebuilding cars, most recently working on a 64 GTO. Sean's mastered skill of story telling (sometimes the same story three or four times) was a highlight for everyone. He was a big fan of music and collected multiple copies of anything from the Beatles. Sean had a big heart, and was very well known for his sense of humor.

He will be greatly missed.

Sean's Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 24, at Real Life Ministries on N. Cecil Road in Post Falls; reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in Sean’s memory.
