BUNDY: Just the facts, ma'am

In response to Kimberly Moore’s April 16 letter about Mr. Cliven Bundy’s dispute with the BLM, I would like to correct some of the statements, offer my opinion of the situation and let Ms. Moore know I AM paying close attention, as she suggested anyone in Idaho should do.

The Bundy family gave up their grazing rights in 1993 by refusing to pay their fees to the BLM (that is us, the federal government). We the taxpayers own that land. Bundy owes over a million in unpaid fees. He says the Feds are not legitimate. He was notified many times to pay up and had court orders which he ignored. In my opinion he is a deadbeat and a freeloader.

As to the assertion that Harry Reid is behind this move, the land which was to have a solar plant built on it is 200 miles away from Bundy’s ranch. Harry Reid had nothing to do with it. Also, the Chinese have pulled out of the solar plant deal as of now.

I get my news from C-SPAN and all the facts have been presented. The more you watch Fox News, the less you know. This paranoia from vigilante groups could have ended in bloodshed. I am glad that did not happen but I do want the Feds to pursue this matter and collect the fees.

We own the property our house sits on but we have to pay our taxes. That is all the BLM asks this rancher to do. If we do not have laws that are enforced we will be living in total chaos.
