VOTERS: Bring end to caucuses
“Retard the vote! Please fellow Republicans, whatever you do in 2016, please don’t vote.”
That is the philosophy of Idaho Republicans. The less voters participating, the better!
And since stuffing the ballot box will raise too many eyebrows, a “Let’s retard the vote” approach has been adopted. Also known as caucuses.
Here are the incriminating numbers:
A whopping 1,170 “voted” in the last Kootenai County Republican Presidential Primary in 2012.
Bonner had 1,042;
Boundary (Bonners Ferry) had 358;
Benewah (St. Maries) had 285;
and 137 in Shoshone County. 137!
Voter turnout was retarded to just 44,672 republicans in the entire state, and Ron Paul still couldn’t win! A meager 2.7% in a red state mind you. That’s less than the population of Coeur d’Alene; 97.2% did not participate.
That’s not representative government. That’s stupidity. That’s power to only a few people.
And don’t tell me it’s apathy. More like self preservation. Who wants to go fight with their neighbors in some public forum and endure endless hours of talking heads spewing their acrimony? Not me. Few want to be labeled and have to defend their vote in business or at work. It just isn’t worth it. So they don’t go and “vote” after a caucus fight.
Party bosses know this, and use this reality to micro-manage outcomes. You know ... like Russia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Afghanistan, or any number of ballot box stuffing countries.
Eliminating fair and free elections is not democracy. And, like it or not, Reince Priebus (national RNC Chairman) doesn’t like caucuses either.
Let the people vote. End caucuses now!
