Why is the 2014 Attorney General’s race important?

One of the major issues facing all Americans is the federal government’s relentless pursuit of gun control and the disarming of law abiding Americans.

With this in mind, I would like to inform Second Amendment advocates that they have an enemy in the Idaho State Attorney General’s office. For all intents and purposes, Lawrence Wasden is the Eric Holder of Idaho.

In 2008, the U.S. Supreme Court in the District of Columbia v. Heller, upheld the individual citizen’s right to bear arms. Prior to that ruling, Lawrence Wasden, along with attorneys general from Maryland and New Jersey, and attorneys from the cities of Chicago, New York and Boston, filed an amicus brief in which they contend that the Second Amendment does not apply to an individual’s right to bear arms. Idaho’s attorney general, Lawrence Wasden, conspired with leftist attorneys from some of the most liberal, crime ridden cities and states in America to undermine the Second Amendment and destroy your right to bear arms.

Wasden believes that the Second Amendment does not protect your individual right to keep and bear arms. When one is confronted with the numerous writings of the founders, and uses proper rules of interpretation, you cannot come to any conclusion other than that stated by Justice Scalia in Heller: That the right to bear arms is an individual right and cannot be abrogated unilaterally by the states.

Your vote in May for Christ Troupis (Attorney General), Russ Fulcher (Governor), Lawerence Denney (Sec’y of State), Jim Chmelik (Lt. Governor), Todd Hatfield (Controller), and John Eynon (Sup’t of Education) will help insure that individual liberty is protected by state government, not destroyed by it.
